The account of Peter’s dream in the New Testament book of Acts regarding a bedsheet full of many different animals has been received by many in Christianity as tacit permission from God to eat whatever they desire. Nothing is un-kosher—there is no more unclean, as the Jews were once taught through the Levitical law. Yet, is this passage of scripture really talking about food? Or does it address a more serious topic—how we treat and interact with our fellow humans?
