Spencerville Seventh-day Adventist Church is a local church ministry with a worldwide impact. We’re located in the Chesapeake Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, which is within the Columbia Union, one of nine regions contained within the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists.
- Our mission is to know Jesus and make Him known.
- Our vision is to be a community of believers ready to serve Jesus anytime, anywhere.
- We live this out through our three primary values: Building Relationships, Growing in Jesus, and Serving the World.
- Spencerville Church was established on December 27, 1941. Read more about our history.
- Our first location, approximately 0.6 miles to the Southeast, was located at Spencerville and Good Hope Roads. It’s now the site of the Washington-Spencerville Korean Seventh-day Adventist Church. We moved to our current property, located at 16325 New Hampshire Ave, in 1980, when the construction of the then-new church was complete.
- In 2017, Spencerville Church purchased the 38-acre “horse farm” property that surrounds our church property on the South and East sides. This proved providential, as we now plan to use this property as part of our rebuilding effort.
- Our church building on New Hampshire Avenue was damaged in a fire in August of 2024, rendering the structure irreparable. Demolition of the vacant structure was completed in February of 2026, and we are currently designing a new church building as part of a comprehensive campus master plan.
- We operate Spencerville Adventist Academy, a PreK-12 school located on Spencerville Road (198), between Burtonsville, Maryland, and our current property.
- Our Senior Pastor is Chad Stuart, DMin. He has served at Spencerville since 2014. More information about our current pastoral team is available on the Leadership page.
- We operate a vibrant media ministry with a weekly sermonic podcast and a worship livestream available on many major platforms.
