Join us as we worship in one unified service at 11:30 a.m. (EDT) in the auditorium at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists world headquarters. We’ll sing our praise to God, even in the sorrow of losing our beautiful sanctuary. Pastor Chad will be preaching tomorrow, which is a late change. It will be a message of hope for what’s next. After all, as we said in our announcement after the fire, the church is a community of people, not a building. We are His church wherever we gather! There are many moving pieces for tomorrow’s worship service, but we’re confident that God will provide.
Here are a few key details for tomorrow:
- There will be one unified service at 11:30 a.m. in the General Conference auditorium. Get directions to the GC building.
- Sabbath School classes will be on hiatus this Sabbath as we assess the damage to the building and figure out our next steps. We encourage classes to meet via Zoom if they are already set up to do so. However, for those not already set up on Zoom, we unfortunately won’t have the resources to create accounts in time for this Sabbath’s services.
- Stick around after the service for some fellowship with other church members in the lobby of the GC building. Take a moment to share your favorite memory in the Spencerville Church sanctuary and pray with fellow members of our church community as we work through our next steps.
- We’re waiting for confirmation on a live stream for those outside the DMV area. A YouTube link is being created and shared on our website, but we’re still working through the logistics of supporting an online service.
- Unfortunately, due to all the late changes, there is no bulletin for the August 10 worship service.
