Ripening: Long in the Nostrils

Ripening: Long in the Nostrils

When we hear the word “patience,” it may bring to mind the interactions of a parent and a child or teacher and student. However, when the Bible refers to patience as a “fruit of the Spirit” in Galatians 5, there’s another more accurate word: longsuffering. Is it different? What is the nature of longsuffering described in scripture? How does understanding it broaden our perspective on the nature and character of God?

Join Pastor Chad on Sabbath, September 7, for the fourth sermon in his series “Ripening” as he shares a message titled “Long in the Nostrils.”

Important Worship Service Information

Thank you for your prayers! We’re continuing to meet each week in our new temporary home: the Lutheran Church of St. Andrew, just one mile south of the fire-damaged Spencerville Church building on New Hampshire Avenue.

For those joining us for worship in person, we’ve created a Worship Information page here on our website that will answer many of your questions about the worship services, Sabbath School classes, and other details related to church life during this transition.

Our email newsletter, this church website, and our social media pages will continue to be the primary sources of information relating to church life.

We continue to solicit your prayers and ask for your patience as we sort through many of the logistical details of worshiping as a displaced congregation.
