Hygge: “Less Pastor, More Others”

Hygge: “Less Pastor, More Others”

Over the next three Saturdays, Pastor Chad Stuart will discuss several aspects of the Danish cultural practice of hygge (pronounced hoo-gah) and how our church could learn and grow using this practice. He’ll look at why we might be missing as much as half of the Sabbath worship experience in our churches and how what’s missing are the elements that can be traced back to this practice of hygge.

What is hygge?

Hygge is a Danish word that means “warm togetherness.” It comes from a Norse word of the Middle Ages, but its meaning is Biblical. The Danes use this word to describe an experience that leads to happiness and contentment.
