Oboe and guitar ensemble, D’Amore Duo.

On February 15 the oboe and guitar ensemble D’Amore Duo presented a rich and varied program of works by Peter Madlem, Napoleon Coste, Marcelo Ferraris, and Waldyr Azevado. Founded in 1991 to investigate the little known wealth of chamber music for oboe and guitar, the D’Amore Duo has toured internationally and domestically to enthusiastic reviews. Oboist Yeon Jee Sohn’s career takes her around the world for solo, chamber, and orchestral performances. Guitarist William Feasley maintains an active solo career and has been featured at guitar festivals in Poland, the Czech Republic, Ecuador, Bolivia, Australia, Slovakia and Peru. Together the D’Amore Duo has released three critically aclaimed recordings, and performed at such venues as St. Martin in the Fields in London, the Yale Centre for British Art, and the National Cathedral, to name a few. The Washington Post described their duo concert as “one of the freshest, most original concerts of the season…a perfect partnership of sound.”
