On Monday evening, February 28, the Spencerville Church Board convened their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. On the agenda, along with the regular business items of the church, was an item for consideration for following Montgomery County and lifting the indoor mask mandate for Spencerville Church. It was a vigorous yet amicable discussion. The board considered input from medical professionals, current state and county COVID numbers, and input from board members who spoke.
The important points are summarized below for brevity, though we think you’ll find the video helpful as it provides additional detail and context.
Points in Brief:
- The Spencerville Church Board voted to lift the indoor mask mandate effective Sunday, March 6. The board chose this date as it is a full two weeks after Montgomery County lifted the indoor mask mandate
- Beginning Sabbath, March 12, masks are no longer required for indoor activities (including Sabbath School classes and worship services).
- We continue to recommend masks for those who are immunocompromised, unvaccinated, or feel more comfortable wearing a mask, as studies show that properly fitted N95 and KN95 masks provide a reasonable level of protection.
