Black in America

A Conversation About Race Between Friends

After the death of George Floyd, the conversation about race relations and what it meant to be black in America was elevated to the forefront. As a pastoral staff, we had several conversations about what we could do to speak out on this topic. Pastor Chad reached out to a long-time friend in ministry, Pastor John Nixon II, the Senior Pastor of the Takoma Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in Takoma Park, Maryland.

What you’ll see in these videos is an honest conversation between two friends. If you’re white, we hope that what you see and hear will convict your heart. If you’re black, it’s our hope that you’ll see this as our attempt to learn and grow. We want to be better friends, neighbors, and partners in life and ministry.
