Our 2024 Thanksgiving Food Drive was a Success! (UPDATED)

Our 2024 Thanksgiving Food Drive was a Success! (UPDATED)

Food Drive Results

This year, we visited 15 neighborhoods in Northern Silver Spring and collected over 6,000 items. Teams of volunteers from our Pathfinder Youth Ministry and members of our Connect Groups sorted the food before packing it into 219 boxes, which were divided between the Elizabeth’s House (FISH of Laurel) and the Ashton Methodist Church food pantries. Both organizations were extremely grateful to receive the donations and were excited to get the food off their shelves and into the hands of those in need as quickly as possible!

On behalf of our Pathfinder Youth Ministry Director, Michael Campbell, our Co-Director, James DeBerry, and our Youth Pastor, John Gonzalez, we want to thank those who participated. You made this event a success!

Spencerville Seventh-day Adventist Church is committed to serving our community.

Nearly 500 bags of donated food were received during our 2023 collection.

For more than 20 years, Spencerville Church has, along with substantial support from within the community, come together to support this initiative, benefiting those in need within our local area. Your generosity over the years has fed thousands of families. We’re blessed to have a group of people willing to work hard (Pathfinder Club kids ministry, parents, our Community Services ministry, Connect Groups, and more!) to help us distribute bags, collect and sort food, and package and deliver the assembled food boxes.

As you reflect on how God has blessed you over the past year, we invite you to give generously and share it with others!

Thanks to your generous contributions, hundreds of families in the greater Laurel and Silver Spring area will enjoy a warm meal this Thanksgiving!
