I received an email several days ago with an immediate and significant need in which we can all participate. You may or may not know that our Adventist Community Services (ACS) agency is serving thousands of families who were evacuated due to Hurricane Florence in North Carolina.
ACS has established five distribution centers to meet the needs of those affected by the Hurricane. There is an immediate need for supplies, water, and personal products in the North Carolina Conference.
Here’s what we can do:
ACS has provided a list of goods below that are desperately needed, and can be purchased online from Amazon or WalMart. It’s our prayer that you will find your heart moved to buy some of these goods and ship them directly to one of the five distribution centers below.
List of goods that are needed:
- Nonperishable food items
- Diapers (adult and baby)
- Baby wipes
- Feminine Hygiene Products
- Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, razors, soap, etc.)
- Cleaning Supplies (bleach, mops, buckets) Tarps
- Purina Dog Food and Purina Puppy Chow
- Disposable plates, napkins, utensils
- Paper Towels
- VISA gift cards
- Toilet paper
- Hand sanitizer and wipes
- Towels & wash cloths
- Box fans, dehumidifiers, disposable gloves, and masks for cleaning
- Laundry detergent
- Dish detergent
- Gloves
- Plastic food storage containers
- Plastic Totes
- Clothing – New clothing from the online sites
Not currently accepting:
- Cold/frozen food
- Prepared food
- Bottled water
- USED clothing
